Matt Fargo's Plays: Matt Fargo's Bio: Matt Fargo is becoming recognized as one of the best and most consistent handicappers in the world. He has been handicapping professionally since his college days and his hard work and dedication have paid off considerably. In his 15 years of handicapping, Fargo has had winning seasons 11 times and has had only two losing seasons in the past 11 campaigns. He brings with him numerous high ranking finishes in all sports with 28 Top Ten's in the past six years alone including four #1's. Matt has appeared on numerous radio shows over the last few years giving out sought after information, free plays and spot-on analysis that the bettor needs. He is commonly referred to as "Mr. Analysis" as his game day reports are considered to be some of the finest and most thorough available anywhere. If you want reasoning for a play, Matt gives it to you. Achievements in handicapping: Consistent winning with numerous first-place finishes in college football and basketball at The Professional Handicappers League, along with top tens in pro baseball, football and basketball. Achievements in handicapping: Consistent winning with numerous first-place finishes in college football and basketball at The Professional Handicappers League, along with top tens in pro baseball, football and basketball. Biggest win of the year: While it may be easy to pinpoint a certain “Big Unit Win” I consider every win to be big. There are games that cover by 40 points and others that cover by a half-point and they both really mean the same thing. Similar to golf, a birdie is a birdie no matter how you got there. Biggest loss of the year: This goes along the same lines as the ‘Biggest win’ as every loss can be considered big. Sometimes losses are due to bad reads, bad luck or a combination of the two. While each win makes you look better, each loss makes you stronger because you learn from your mistakes. I learn more and more everyday and will do so ongoing. Systems used for handicapping a game: For college sports and baseball, I employ a statistical database that is second to none giving easy access to the stats that count. Statistics in these sports can be very beneficial in isolating the stronger teams that do not jump right out. In the NFL and the NBA, it is more situational handicapping although stats cannot be discounted. Rating Scale Play Rating will be displayed in each title and range anywhere from 5* to 10* for Premium Plays and 3* for Free Plays. Enforcer – this is the Signature Play for Matt and is usually backed with a 10* Rating unless otherwise noted. Supreme Annihilator – this is typically a favorite or a pickem that Matt feels has the opportunity to destroy the line. Dark Horse Dandy – this is an underdog that is being faded for the wrong reasons and usually has a chance to win a game outright. Star Attraction – this is a game that can be seen on national television providing great watch and win opportunities. Total Dominator – while rare, these are the best over/under releases and occur more in football and baseball than any other sports. Team you avoid when wagering: In baseball, teams on losing streaks need to be avoided as losing is very contagious in that sport since it is based on simple wins and losses. Every other sport it is just the opposite as I tend to fade hot teams and ride cold teams. This may seem odd but this is the best way to get extra value in the lines going either way. Sports, conferences and divisions he excels at handicapping: football, basketball and baseball, and the smaller college conferences such as the MAC, Sun Belt, Missouri Valley, and MAAC. Quote: “This is not an easy business and anyone that tells you different clearly does not put in the time or hard work that I do. In order to be successful, it takes patience, dedication and an overall willingness to be the best. We all go through good and bad runs but it is consistency that counts when it comes to handicapping.” |
